Quite interesting minigame here, just like the "Swabbing The Deck" minigame
in the previous Grandia. The rules from arm wrestling are:
- The R Trigger add power to you arm. (R Trigger is as same as the Rotate
Right button).
- Pulling the R Trigger hard makes your "POWER" greater then the other
guy's, but saps your "ENDURANCE".
- If your ENDURANCE drops to 0 you can't push again the other guy's arm.
- Keep pushing A (Action) button to restore your endurance.
- You can't use A button and R Trigger on the same time.
At the beginning, you must play this minigame as a part of the story, but
there Elena will "help" you. Later on you can play this again by talking to
Hemble inside his tent, and you must win two round of the game. After every
game Hemble will give you an item. However you only can play this game for
five times, because after five times Hemble will refuse to play.
Here's the hint to beat this game:
- Keep your power a little bit over Hemble's power.
- When Hemble's power drop, quickly restore your endurance by tapping A.
- When his arm nearly down, don't hesitate to boost your arm power.
- Don't forget to watch your endurance bar.

E.3. Walnut Grabbing MiniGame

Hehe, funny game.
This game is easy to play, just use the directional buttons to move Ryudo
left and right, then use action button to grab the walnut. We also need to
avoid those Miya worm fallen from the sky, because if it lands on Ryudo's
head, he will lose a lot of time. If you want to get the Book Of War, you
better play this game, I was managed until level 7 (24 Nuts) once, somehow
with some great luck...

E.4. Raul Hills Special Stage

Remember the maze area on the Raul Hills? After you have Roan back to your
party, go there to get some good items and a Fairy Egg. Wait, this time,
you won't get those items easily. It's just because you must defeat all of
those Devil monsters to get all of those items, and believe me, once those
monsters cast BA-BOOM!, we're history.
You can also found some weapons without ATK power here. Anyway, in case you
have forgotten, here's the walkthrough:

As soon as you enter go West and follow the path into the boat. Ride the
boat, from the dock, go a little bit to the North West, then go South West,
follow this path into Raul Hills 1. Walk South West a little, then head far
North West to get a Dull Knife, an Useless Staff, a Rusty Hoop, and a Zero
Broadsword. Make your way back to the boat, this time follow the path East
crossing a stone bridge. Use the only save point here, and just follow the
dirt path into the Maze area.
Some path are blocked now in the maze, so to get the Fairy Egg you must go
all the way around. Just refer to this map for the item locations:

Now, the real challenge is how to defeat the Devil monsters, here's the
stategy to do it:
- Do not let them surprise you, initiative on fighting.
- Equip two or three Life Up skill on your fastest character, make sure his
/her HP is more than 5000. I do this to handle the BA-BOOM! spell, that
spell will cost around 4000-4500 damage. So if the other characters are
dead, at least there's one last character to resurrect them.
- Equip a Revival Gem accessories on the other one character, so if he/she
is dead, this character will automatically come back to live.
- Cast Snooze, Shhh!, Fiora, or Elena's Nigthmare Ball on them, it wont be
that powerful and the effect wont last long, but it will reset their IP
gauge (J-aoshi).
- Use your best attacking skills to immediately defeat them. Don't hesitate
to use Sky Dragon Slash or White Apocalypse, don't give them chance to
cast BA-BOOM!. Restore your SP with items after battle.
- They're slow when trying to cast BA-BOOM!, use Tio's Lotus Flower or Ele-
na's Impact Bomb, this moves are fast enough to cancel their moves.
- Just hope that they will not cast BA-BOOM! twice in a row.
There's another strategy if you don't want to fight them, this was told to
me by cdogbreath:
"They left areas that you can stand where the Devils cant see you or battle
you. You dont even have to battle them".
Ha! All you have to do is try to avoid them, they don't even notice you if
you follow them in the back.

E.5. Millenia Logic Bug?

When we're fighting Millenia at the beginning of the game, we will need to
have her cast Zap! so the game will advance. Now the question is what if
she don't?
This situation happened sometimes on the PC version of Grandia 2. Millenia
never cast Zap!, instead she'll always cast Stram, and after she have spent
all of her MP, then she only use the regular attacks using her bow. At this
rate when Ryudo is dead the game is over and if he keeps healing it will be
a neverending battle.
There's 4 solutions I've got for this problem, and those are:
Solution 1:
- Equip weapon with lower ATK rate and don't equip any acessories that rai-
ses ATK. Stram is a spell to drops ATK, Millenia won't use it if Ryudo's
ATK rate is low.
- Never attack Millenia from the very beginning, always use Defense command
instead.
Solution 2, from HuoC:
- "The key to avoid the bug is not to speak to the combat tutorial guy in
the shop. When he explains the sequence of combat, the logic of monsters
are somewhat mixed up. So the solution is to start over the game, and
never speak to the tutorial guy".
Solution 3, from Richard:
- "I figured it out, musta been a scratch on my cd or something, I closed
it, re-opened it, ran it, and it worked fine".
Solution 4:
- Defeating Millenia is possible, as DTurner said:
"Millenia actually has HP, it's just extremely high. It is possible to
kill her but you have to be extremely strong"
- With Ryudo's low stats in the beginning of the game, there's no other way
than using cheat to defeat her, Pinky The Cow confirmed it:
"If you cheated/trained e.g. max all stats with some editor, then you can
beat Millenia and after you win (gaining absolutely no items, exp or
coins) the cutscene as if you were ZAPped would be displayed and then
the game would proceed as if you were ZAPped either. You can write down
initial stats, then max them, beat her, save game, and return to initial
values with the same editor".

E.6. PC Or Dreamcast?

Basically there's no major difference between the Dreamcast version and the
PC version of Grandia 2, the differences are:
- PC version have a small Gmconfig application that lets you configure
Grandia 2 settings.
- In the PC version, disc 2 is the game play disc, as for disc 1 its only
an installer.
- The Millenia Zap! bug is not in the DC version. She is able to knockout
Ryudo out with Stram.
