TAKE TO THE SLOPES IN THE UPCOMING ARCADE SNOWBOARDING GAME TRICKY MADNESS

A love letter to snowboarding favourites like SSX and 1080° Snowboarding, Tricky Madness brings a modern take on the classics.

AUSTIN, TexasApril 18th, 2024 – Shred the gnar in the upcoming arcade snowboarding game, Tricky Madness. From developer Nathan Dearth, a demo is available on Itch.io with the early access release scheduled for Steam later this year.

Inspired by Nostalgia
Tricky Madness is a love letter to the beloved snowboarding games of the early 2000s. Taking inspiration from what made them so good, fans of earlier titles will feel right at home in this refreshed interpretation with a familiar tricking system and iconic snowboarding tricks. With more polished gameplay, modern graphics, and modern system accessibility, Developer Nathan Dearth says he’s “ready to bring people the ultimate modern arcade snowboarding experience they've waited decades for.”

Let’s Get Tricky!
Speed and freestyling are the name of the game, so get ready to shred down the slopes, catch big air to score tricking points, and boost your speed on a successful landing. Build up your Tricky meter with the usual spins, flips, grabs, and grinds to perform Uber Tricks and Uber Grinds, complex tricking combinations that’ll score big points. The Superman, The Worm, and The Butt Slide Grind are some of the many Uber Tricks you can unleash as you style on everyone.

Full of Discovery

While you’re full sending it down the piste, don’t forget that each map is a world of opportunities waiting to be discovered. With branching paths, shortcuts, and hidden areas, there are plenty of things to explore and see in the eight unique standalone maps run after run. The planned campaign mode will feature a connected mountain with secrets and collectibles of its own to uncover. Drop into hours of replayable fun as you explore, optimize, and compete in this modern take on cult classics.

Planned Features:

  • Eight handcrafted standalone maps each with hidden surprises and experiences.

  • A dedicated campaign mode set on an open-world mountain with secrets and collectibles.

  • Eight fully voiced characters with their own backstory, personalities, and snowboarding tricks.

  • A voiced in-game DJ commentator, hyping you up as you make your way through the game.

  • Three exhilarating game modes to test your speed and skills including freestyle, time trials, and races.

  • An enhanced tricking points system encourages you to trick more often for speed boosts and unlocks Uber Tricks and Grinds.

Tricky Madness is available to wishlist on Steam and will launch into early access later this year. A demo is available to try on Itch.io. To keep up with all things Tricky Madness, check out their website, subreddit, Discord server, X, and Youtube channel
