IL-2 Sturmovik

The new generation of IL-2 Sturmovik titles is developed by 1CGS and is a combat flight simulator of the World War II era and carries on the tradition created by the original IL-2 Sturmovik first released in 2001. Sturmovik recreates the aircraft, their use in the war and the environment they flew in. This latest product is a successor of the classic IL-2 Sturmovik that was a leader of the sim genre for more than 10 years. The new IL-2 is true to the ideas born by the first title with an accurate representation of aircraft and famous WWII battles.

To the date there are three Edition available:

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad

This edition is dedicated to the Stalingrad battle and the major events of this titanic battle. It includes the Stalingrad region map and eight (8) aircraft that flew in the skies over Stalingrad.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Moscow

This edition is dedicated to the events of the Battle of Moscow. The included Campaign tells about the defense of Soviet capital and the Red Army counter offensive that followed. The Standard Edition includes the Moscow map and eight (8) aircraft which participated in this decisive battle

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban

This edition is dedicated to the Battle of Kuban. Its campaign tells the story of the large scale aerial battles between the Red Air Force and the Luftwaffe which took place during the Spring of 1943 in the skies above the Taman peninsula and Novorossiysk. It adds the Kuban map for single-player modes and eight aircraft that participated in this battle
 

Compatibility Between Editions

IL-2 Sturmovik  editions - Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Moscow use a common client and authorization system, which allows a customer to use them separately or as a combined product. This approach allows players of both editions to encounter each other in multiplayer mode and streamlines updates and the addition of future content. All editions of the game include the standard gameplay modes and several maps that are available to all owners of the sim.
