As we get closer and closer to the release of this highly anticipated fighter, the character trailers are coming hard and fast. Don't act like I didn't warn you. And, as promised, I've got the trailer here for you (watch our coverage of the other character trailers here, here and here). Beerus is a big name in the Dragon Ball universe, and it's not just because he's a planet destroying cat. Ok, some of that is the reason.
According to Dragon Ball lore, Beerus is a star buster by Whis. Often seen destroying planets at a whim, Beerus' two major driving forces in life are enjoying the Universe's finest cooking and fighting opponents whom he considers to be worthy. These desires ultimately leads him to hunt down the Super Saiyan God, who turns out to be one of the Saiyans now living on Earth. After a ton of animated hijinks, Son Goku transforms into the Super Saiyan God and fights Beerus, eventually getting his ass handed to him by the God of Destruction. Luckily, he had so much fun, he doesn't kill Goku and he even steps up, does the right thing, and spares Earth, since Goku was the second strongest opponent he ever faced, the toughest guy he's ever tangled with being his martial arts teacher, Whis.
Now, he's coming to kick your ass.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is out for Xbox One, PC and PS4 on January 26th.
