Duesseldorf/Germany, January 23, 2025 - Team17 Group plc, a leading global independent games developer and publisher of premium video games, working simulation games and children's edutainment apps, is today announcing the rebrand of the Company to everplay group plc.
everplay – the next chapter of the evolution of the Group
The Group's change in name reflects the evolution of the business following its IPO – its London Stock Market listing – in 2018. The Group now comprises of three distinct divisions operating across complementary markets within the video games and apps industry. everplay provides the Group with a name that reflects its purpose to never stop playing, as well as its creative drive to deliver a lifetime of play.
The rebrand is a strategic growth lever and a key mechanism to refine how the Group will work together now it has embedded its highly successful acquisitions into the broader business. To create value and grow the Group beyond what it is today.
The rebranding only affects the Group's brand identity. The developer, video games label, and publisher Team17 will continue to operate under its well known brand identity. The same applies to the divisions astragon Entertainment, a developer and publisher of simulation games, and StoryToys, a developer and publisher of educational apps. All three divisions will continue focusing on maximizing operational synergies and strategic opportunities across the wider Group as well as avoiding any confusion between the Group and the Team17 division.
Strengthening the power of the Group
The rebrand allows for strengthening the Group and a simplification of the business in the marketplace. It will enable full leverage of collective power whilst preserving the impact of the respected identities of the business.
Talent and skills will be nurtured and shared across the organisation to reflect the desire to grow and strengthen the Group's position as a global "indie powerhouse". The strengthened Group will fuel the vision to be the best place in the world to both make and play games.
To that end, the Group continues to focus on the wealth of opportunities in the indie, children's games and working simulation markets by launching exceptional new games. At the same time, everplay focuses on driving back catalogue sales by prioritising our portfolio and evergreen franchises, while adopting innovative publishing and marketing models to maximise discoverability and appeal in the marketplace.
The change of name is expected to take effect in early February. Trading in the Group's shares under the new TIDM, "EVPL", will commence at 8.00 a.m. (GMT) on 24 January 2025. The Group confirms that there is no change to the Group's ISIN.
