With original 2D pixel art designed by Wikman himself, he is proud to finally share his unique approach to the wargame genre. Carefully assemble your own army based on enemy and terrain types. Take on procedurally generated battles to recapture stolen territories within the turn count and seize your foothold on enemy territory.
Perfect for Wargame Experts and Beginners
Rogue Conflict provides approachable missions for anyone willing to step onto the battlefield. You've just received a top-secret report from High Command detailing your mission objectives. Now, soldier, it's time to set up your army for success! Strategically place your men for battle. Use recon units to slowly reveal the entire map layout and scout out enemy targets lurking in the shadows. Deploy tanks and concentrate your attacks on enemy weak points, sweeping them away from key locations such as villages, radio towers, and nuclear power plants. Instruct your infantrymen to flank from the sides, and use artillery units to provide secondary support—slowly depleting their strength and morale to zero. Keep a supply truck handy in the backlines to give your group an extra boost in morale. Lastly, dive in with aircraft units to bombard from above. Once you finish your turn, sit back during the enemy's turn and assess how to proceed as you continue to command your fleet.

With 15 different army factions, each with unique strengths and weaknesses, there is a faction suited for every play style. Earn medals by successfully completing missions, allowing you to lead new factions. Select your faction to best counter various enemy and terrain types. If you're new to wargames, consider choosing a well-rounded army that offers a balance across all military unit areas. If you're seeking more of a challenge, select an army that is high in strength but small in units, or conversely, low in strength but high in units. For those who prefer speed, a mobile-focused faction can blitz through enemy lines with lightning speed, but at the cost of recon and artillery units. Alternatively, select a faction that excels in capturing urban areas but struggles on all other terrains.
Transform your Army
After completing a mission, you can use the Requisition Point (RP) system to boost your army's capabilities or unlock new units. You'll have access to enemy intelligence reports before battles, along with perks, advanced vehicles, equipment, weaponry, and more. Successfully completing your operations will earn you additional RP points as rewards. The stronger the enemies you defeat or the more turns you have left remaining, the more points you'll earn. However, if you're defeated in battle, you'll lose all your progress and need to develop a new strategy for your next offensive. Can you use tactics and terrain to secure victory?

Frans Wikman is a solo developer based in Mariehamn, Finland. Rogue Conflict is his debut title. The game combines mechanics from several different wargames and turn-based strategy games he has played throughout his life. He aims to present them in a roguelike format, creating the very first wargame roguelike.
