‘Virballs’ Unleashes Spherical Elemental Mayhem on PC Today
It's time to gear up and save the galaxy as independent developer Bolder Games has launched Virballs!
A sci-fi 3D platformer inspired by fan favorites like Rachet and Clank, Kirby, and A Hat in Time, Virballs tasks players with cleaning up an ecological (and galactic) disaster by using the powers of hybrid virball monsters as devastating weapons. Run, roll, and blast through each of the six unique planets and save the local Floober populations before the local planetary system is completely overrun by the viral menace!
In Virballs, you take on the role of ORB, an ordinary Object Removal Bot assigned to clean up the chaos caused by the invasive virball menace. The nefarious Dr. Corvid, a mad scientist, has unleashed his latest creations across multiple planets, spreading havoc everywhere. To make matters worse, the innocent Floobers — native inhabitants of these worlds — are under attack by the vicious virballs! Six unique planets have been infested, with each planet posing new threats and requiring creative use of virball powers to clear the infestation.
The biology of virballs remains largely a mystery, but early research suggests they share many traits with viruses. Oddly, virballs have been seen consuming one another, resulting in the creation of strange and powerful hybrids. Fortunately, ORB is well-equipped for the task at hand! Armed with rocket-propelled grappler claws, small thrusters for enhanced mobility, and a containment sphere for handling hazardous materials, ORB is fully equipped to turn the elemental tides! Within this containment sphere, he can harness their abilities to generate elemental Cores, expanding his arsenal and bringing him one step closer to stopping Dr. Corvid's schemes.
