The Kickstarter for Hopetown, Longdue's 'psychogeographic' RPG, ended today, raising just under $150,000 from fans to close at 450% of its original target. Stretch goals that were hit ensure that The Witcher 3 composer Paweł Blaszczak will work on the game and there will be a short story set in the world of Hopetown from Longdue's Martin Luiga, who also wrote the first piece of fiction in the Disco Elysium universe as well as several characters in the game itself.
Hopetown is a narrative-first RPGs being built by a team of veterans and up and coming talent. The team includes Martin Luiga, founding member of the ZA/UM Cultural Movement and writer of several Disco Elysium characters, Disco Elysium narrator Lenval Brown, Piotr Sobolewski, who oversaw all technical development on Disco Elysium as CEO of the Knights of Unity, and Astri Lohne, whose stunning art you can check out in the Hopetown art update video below.
"We would like to extend a massive thanks to everyone who supported the Hopetown Kickstarter and helped make it a success," said Longdue's Martin Luiga. "Your support is vital in helping us make the best game we possibly can. With the Kickstarter now over, we can fully focus our attention on making the game and we can't wait to come back to you to share more."
