I. INTRODUCTION

Hey! Thanks for reading my FAQ. This FAQ simply has info. about the
numerous items and enemies in the game. It is NOT meant to be a
walkthrough of some sorts. If you need a walkthrough, there should be a

And about the game: Abe, the blue Mudokon in a loincloth with the
ability to fart anytime is back in a larger game! And I know, the
previous game was REAL hard, but now they've tweaked it a bit to make it
easier. The controls are different now, there are more characters to
possess, and a LOT more CG animation! The drawback here is that Abe's
Exoddus was put on 2 discs. Other than that, it's pretty much the same
as Abe's Oddysee.

For those who own the PC version, worry not! This FAQ also covers the
PC version, although I never found any difference in the two versions.
However, the Controls section only covers the PlayStation version. Why
didn't I include some stuff about the PC version? I don't have it!

III. CHARACTERS

The cast of characters have grown since the first game. Here they are!

--Abe-- (eyb)
This blue guy is the main hero of the game.

--Fleeches-- (fli-chez)
Once pets of Sligs that were washed up in the sewers, these creatures
can tongue-lash Abe and kill him in the process. They can't be possessed
and are usually asleep. Stepping on Slurgs will awaken them.

--Glukkons-- (glah-kunz)
Yep, it's true--Abe can now control high-ranking Glukkons. They rely
on Foot Soldier Sligs and voice-activated machines since they have no
hands. Three of the well-known Glukkons you'll get to possess are Gen.
Dripik, Vice President Aslik and Director Phleg.

--Greeters-- (gri-tehrz)
Cylindrical robots on a wheel. Once cola vendors, they bugged their
customers until they finally buy one. They'll keep on bugging even up to
the point of electrocuting their customers. Because of that, they were
made into motion-detecting anti-Abe scanners.

--Mini Slogs-- (mee-nee slohgz)
A teeeeeeny-weeny version of the Slog. Probably their kids. Abe can
simply jump over them as an evasive manuever.

--Mudokons-- (mu-da-kunz)
These are the ones Abe must save. There are 300 in all, and 7 types:

1> Angry: He's a powdered keg! Don't slap him, or else he'll slap you
back. Say sorry in front of him to cheer him up, or else they
won't follow you.
2> Sad: Don't slap him or else he'll slap himself to death! Simply say
sorry in order to cheer him up, or else they won't follow.
3> Wired: These poor souls have been affected by a laughing gas. To
make them normal again, get them out of the gas and slap them.
4> Sick: These guys had one SoulStorm Brew too many. First, get a
Healing Aura from a Mudokon Shaman then chant to heal them. I
think there are only 11 of them.
5> Blind: You should guide them step by step `cause they can't see.
6> Tortured: These Mudokons are attached to the Tear X-Tractor machine.
Pull the lever nearby to release them. They become sick Mudokons
after you release them, but fortunately, there should be a
Mudokon Shaman nearby.
7> Shaman: These guys give you a Healing Aura. You should see 3 of them
on your way. You can't save them, though.

--Paramites-- (pa-ruh-maitz)
The guardians of the Mudomo Vaults, they've got a hand as a face. How
cute! They are the spiders of Oddworld, and Abe can possess them, unlike
before. They'll step back if you get near, but once they're cornered,
they'll attack. They are also brave whenever in groups. Meat pieces are
the only decoys against Paramites.

--Scrabs-- (scrahbz)
These four-legged creatures are the guardians of the Mudanchee Vaults.
They can be compared to horses without eyes. They also look like the
Shrykull, but without 2 arms. Abe can possess these monsters, unlike in
Abe's Oddysee.

--Shrykull-- (shrai-khal)
The sacred figure of Mudokons, Abe becomes this creature when he saves
the required number of Mudokons in a bird portal. Bird portals with a
number will give you the Shrykull aura if you evacuate the same # of
Mudokons. As a Shrykull, it will generate bolts of lightning to destroy
all of the hazards in the area where Abe's in.

--Sligs-- (sligz)
There are 2 kinds of Sligs: Foot Soldiers who use guns, and Flying
Sligs who fire bombs. They use the same vocabulary, and can be
possessed. They're like an Abe with a weapon, and they can't jump.

--Slogs-- (slohgz)
Get 2 stubby feet, red skin, a big mouth and no eyes and you'll get a
Slog. Slogs are the dogs of Oddworld. You can call upon Slogs with
Sligs. They can't be possessed. Use bones as a decoy.

--Slurgs-- (sluhrgz)
Black slugs without brains. Slurgs can wake up sleeping creatures when
they're stepped on, since it makes a squeaking sound. Be careful when
trying to sneak or else you'll wake something up.

IV. ITEMS IN THE GAME

There are also several items that can be a hazard to Abe. Some aren't.

(This section covers the PSX version, but the 2 versions don't have any
difference at all.)

**NON-HAZARDOUS ITEMS** (Sorted alphabetically)

- Aura -
Auras can be gotten by the special Bird Portal (with a number), a
special lock or a Mudokon Shaman. Chant to use them. There are 3 types:
1) Invisibility Aura- They make you invisible for a brief period of
time.
2) Healing Aura- they heal the sick Mudokons.
3) Shrykull Aura- it turns Abe into a Shrykull. As the Shrykull, Abe
will be able to destroy all kinds of mines and hazards there.

- Barricade -
These barricades are basically walls. Stepping on floor switches,
pulling levers, solving the Slig voice-puzzle or ordering the Glukkon
Fone to "do it!" will open them.

- Bird Portals -
These are the main vessels to evacuate Mudokons. Chant to open them,
and your buddies will get in. There are some that will stay open and be
available for Abe's use.

- Bomb dispensers -
These dispensers give one bomb everytime Abe presses the switch. Be
careful when there are Sligs nearby, `cause the sound of the falling
bomb will alert even the tiniest of creatures.

- Bones -
Bones give you time if Slogs are following your loincloth.

- Brew Dispensers -
To get a Soulstorm Brew out of the machine, press up in front of the
green button.

- Collapsible floors -
These floors are floors that collapse during time intervals, or
whenever a lever is pulled. Glukkons could just talk to a machine near
the trap and say "Do it!" and it'll collapse. They let Abe or someone
else fall to a lower level. Some traps, however, are hazardous, as it
might make the character fall to his doom.

- Doors and caves -
Pretty basic. Press up to get in. There are some special doors,
however, that require you to pull a lever, press a switch, destroy the
locked boxes in the area, etc. in order to enter.

- Floor switches -
Whenever they're stepped on, it either opens a barricade or activates
a teleportation door.

- Glukkon Fones -
Big, green, oval-shaped monitors that only answers Glukkons. To use it
correctly as a Glukkon you just possessed, do this:

<#1> Fone: "Hey!"
Glukkon (you): "Hey!"
Say something else and the Fone will giggle

<#2> Fone: "What!?"
Glukkon (you): "Do it!"
Say something else and the Fone will giggle

A door, barricade or elevator should now be available for use.

- Laughing Gas -
Laughing Gas make Mudokons... err... laugh. Abe isn't affected by this
stuff, however.

- Levers -
Self-explanatory. They open up doors, booby traps, etc. Use Square to
make Abe or Sligs pull one. Glukkons can make Sligs pull the lever if
they say "Do it!" to the Slig beside the lever. There's also a string
type lever that hangs from the ceiling. As Abe or a Paramite, press up
to pull them.

- Locked Boxes -
You need to slap them in order to open them. They'll either open a
door or give you the Invisibility Aura.

- Meat -
Meat will give you some time if Paramites are tailing you.

- Mine Cars -
To get in, press Square. It is indestructible, so it'll act as a
barrier or a weapon to destroy mines and Sligs. Press Square to get
out, or drop from the ceiling. Be careful when Mudokons are around, for
it will flatten them and kill them.

- Pulley Elevator (I call it the Pulleyvator) -
It's the other means of going from a lower place to a higher one and
vice-versa in Oddworld. To make the Abe or a Slig use it, press up or
down while in front of the rope.

- Rocks -
Rocks will set off any mine laid on the ground if Abe throws them into
one.

- Security Fones -
Blue versions of the Glukkon Fone. Only General Dripik, Vice-President
Aslik or Director Phleg can talk to it.

- Security Orbs -
These floating orbs prohibit Abe from chanting, or better yet,
possessing. They can only be destroyed by making something explode near
it, like a bomb or Abe's exploding fart.

- Sacks -
Sacks either have pieces of meat, rocks or even bones inside them. To
get the item inside, simply touch it to make it drop something. If you
presently have something on your hand, then it won't give you anything.

- Slig Dispenser -
If a Glukkon hollers for help, or a special lever is pulled, a Slig
will always drop down and be there to make things better or worse. It
won't drop another Slig unless the previous one dies.

- Slig Voice-Puzzle Lock -
They are small, green, oval-shaped monitors installed to the wall. As
a Slig, simply imitate the sounds it makes after saying "Hi!" to it. A
barricade will open once you imitate the sounds correctly.

- SoulStorm Brew -
SoulStorm Brew is a concoction made from Mudokon bones and tears. It's
the thing that makes Abe's normal farts into ticking time-bombs.

- Tear X-Tractor Machine -
The Tear X-Tractor... err... extracts tears from the poor Mudokon so
that the tears can be mixed with Mudokon bones to make Soulstorm Brew.

- Tubes -
Press up to get inside these. They'll transport Abe to different
places. Inactive tubes don't spew leaves, while active ones do.

- Valves -
Holding Up in front of them will make Abe turn them continuously. They
make some barricades, doors, shredders and collapsing floors accessible
or closed.

**HAZARDOUS ITEMS** (Sorted alphabetically)

- Abe's exploding fart -
The exploding fart is different from Abe's normal fart, because the
exploding fart explodes, while the normal fart doesn't. You can use
exploding farts if Abe drinks SoulStorm Brew and farts (by pressing X).
You can also possess it by chanting. If Abe is too near the fart after
the countdown, or the possessed fart exploded near him, then OF COURSE
HE'LL DIE!!!

- Bombs -
Hand-held grenade-type bombs can be dangerous to Abe if he doesn't
throw it soon while holding Circle, or he gets too close to the
bomb's blast radius.

- Boulders -
Boulders falling from the ceiling can flatten anything and everything
that is underneath the place where they drop.

- Electrical barricade -
Abe and basically EVERYTHING that touches this will be fried to a
C-R-I-S-P. Don't even try to go through one unless it's turned off. To
shut it down, simply find the lever or switch that can turn it off.

- Floating Mines -
The big sphere-shaped momma of them all. You'll notice it's a Floating
Mine if it... err... floats. Touching it would mean dead Mudokon meat.

- Land mines -
Just like UXBs, but they can't be deactivated. It's a dome-shaped mine
that, like the UXB again, explodes when stepped on. Abe can throw rocks
to destroy them. Another alternative is to make someone touch it, OR
Abe can just jump over it.

- Shredder -
They're big, sharp, spinning clindrical pieces of metal that, when
touched, means doom to the unlucky individual. Some levers may turn
them off, but some only make them slower.

- UXB mines -
It's generally a tall mine, probably 1/4 of Abe's height. You should
notice that a UXB mine's top flashes red a couple of times, then
suddenly flashes green. If Abe gets near, the mine will explode, so
watch out. It can only be deactivated by crouching near it and pressing
Square while the top of the mine is still green.

Okay, boys and girls, that's all! If you think I missed some things,
please do E-Mail me.
