1.0 Before Playing
-------------------
Here are some tips:
1) Groups. Select the units you wish you group. Hold down the Ctrl key and
press a number key. Now the units are associated with the number key. To
select the grouped units once again, simply press the number key they are
associated with.

Use groups to separate your unit types.

2) Attack-move. Hold the A key and left click your destination. Attack-
moving commands your units to attack any enemies they encounter while moving.

Always attack-move.

3) Special abilities. Some units have powerful special abilities. A selected
unit's special ability--if it has one--can be activated by pressing the
appropriate icon in the menu in lower right-hand corner of the screen.

Use special abilities often.

4) Card selection. When choosing cards, select artillery cards, the Fort
Wagon card and the Factory card when they become available. Some of my
strategies depend on these cards, and they are some of the best to have. When
choosing any other card, be sure you need it; when unsure, save your card
points as more card options are unlocked when your city level increases. In
the campaign mode, cards that improve resource collection or decrease building
costs are useless, while cards that ship in military units are priceless.

Choose military cards and save card points when uncertain.

-------------
2.0 Campaign
-------------
2.1 Act I

2.1.1 Breakout

Primary Objectives:
-Defend the Fort Command Post.
-Use Settlers to gather the wood on the hill to light the signal fire.

Secondary Objectives:
-Collect all the Treasures on the map. (300 XP)

Collect the Crossbowmen into a group and keep them behind the gate. Research
the Crossbowmen upgrade. Double-left click one Barracks to select them all;
construct as many Crossbowmen as your resources allow, and continue to do so
for the rest of the level. Building Pikemen is a waste of resources. Keep
the Crossbowmen behind the walls.

Let Morgan Black, your hero unit, soak up damage and use his Oberhau Attack on
big groups of enemies. He cannot die; he revives as long as a unit of yours
is next to his body.

Once his life is depleted, have him collect Treasures, denoted by white X's on
the minimap. Hold the Shift key and right click the first Treasure, then the
second, and so forth, and release the Shift key. Morgan will collect the
Treasures without your supervision.

When you are told Great Bombards are arriving, send five or more Settlers (who
are working in the town north of the fort) to the northwest edge of the map,
to a hilltop with a wooden pyre. When the appropriate game trigger occurs,
they will automatically collect the wood that spawns around the pyre and light
the signal fire before the enemy can reach them.

When the Great Bombards begin attacking your base, keep your Crossbowmen out
of their range.

Once the signal fire is lit, 20 or so Imperial Hussars come under your
control. Destroy the cannons to win.

2.1.2 Into the Caves

Primary Objectives:
-Defend the base from the Ottoman attack.
-Destroy all the Ottoman Weapons Caches.

Secondary Objectives:
-Build an Artillery Foundry and train at least 10 Hoop Throwers. (500 XP)
-Find a shipwreck and gather any supplies near it. (300 XP)
-Find all the Treasures. (300 XP)

Your base is under attack. Immediately send heroes Alain and Morgan to the
thick of the fight and move your Great Bombard up and initiate its bombard
mode. Use Morgan's Oberhau Attack on the largest groups of enemies and
bombard the weakened units with the cannon.

With the attack repelled, build Settlers. Do not waste your gold or wood--
build two Galleons as soon as possible.

Load Morgan and three or more Settlers into a Galleon and travel a short
distance east of your Dock to a small island with a lone Treasure Guardian and
many supplies on it. Kill the Guardian with your Galleons and harvest all the
supplies on the island with your Settlers. Your Galleons have paid for
themselves. Build another Galleon.

Your base will be attacked by waves of enemies, so build Crossbowmen.

Once the island has been stripped of its resources, reload the Settlers and
Morgan into a Galleon and send the ships northeast. Destroy the three
Galleys guarding the Dock and Mosque, making sure to keep the Galleon loaded
with units safe. Unload the Settlers and collect the resources strewn around
the Mosque. Ignore the cave to the north for now, as it leads to many
enemies.

Your economy is now supercharged. Build two forces: One, comprised of many
(20-30 should be adequate) Crossbowmen, with your Galleons on the beach where
the Mosque was, and another at your base, comprised of a few Mortars, the
Great Bombard and 25-30 Crossbowmen.

Achieve the secondary objectives for experience, if you wish.

Advance your main force northeast, and attack the enemy base. Let your
artillery bombard their buildings while your soldiers defend them. Destroying
the Stockades releases Swedish Pikemen, who join you. Once the enemy's base
is destroyed, head to the main cave entrance. Split off a smaller force with
some Mortars and destroy the first Weapons Cache north of your base.

When your second force at the beach is large enough, send it into the cave and
clear out the enemies there.

Clear the cave of the Weapons Caches in a pincer movement, your two forces
working through the cave from both ends.

2.1.3 PIRATES!

Primary Objectives:
-Build a Town Center.
-Build a Barracks and a Dock.
-Find and collect three Navigation Charts.

Secondary Objectives:
-Build a second Town Center. (200 XP)

Build a Town Center. Advance to the Fortress Age as soon as possible. Do not
build or research anything that requires food or gold, with the exception of
Settlers; after your Settlers have collected all the packaged resources, have
some hunt and have some mine. Build a Market.

Your current goal is to build a fleet of Galleons.

Natives will raid your base from the northwest, so keep soldiers near.
Throughout the level, the enemy will regularly land forces to attack your
base.

Choose The Admiral of the Ocean Sea governor when researching the next Age.
Build a Barracks and a Dock. Do lots of mining and woodcutting, and research
the appropriate upgrades.

While the Age advancement is researching, send soldiers and a few Settlers to
the southwest peninsula of the island and wipe out the pirates guarding the
resource stash and Silver Mine there. Collect the resources with your
Settlers. Build two Outposts overlooking the sea there. Build another
Outpost at the southernmost edge of the island, too. Research the Frontier
Outpost upgrade. Now you control the sea lanes.

Build Galleons. Three should be more than enough.

Build soldiers. Load one of your ships with soldiers and Settlers and land
them on the island southeast of yours. Kill the enemies and collect the
Treasures for one Navigation Chart, a Town Center Wagon and some food. Build
a Town Center there and collect wood and gold from the island.

Next, transport your units to the island on the southeastern edge of the map.
Support your land expedition with bombardment from your ships. Collect the
Treasures on this island.

Now, focus the Galleon's fire on the nearby enemy settlement. Kill the
enemies, land your force, and collect the second Navigation Chart.

Begin building the final assault force. Construct many Crossbowmen, Pikemen,
and several Mortars. To speed up the process, build some of them with your
Galleons.

Land (or build) your force on the southeast side of the main enemy island.
Advance to their base. Maybe twenty units will oppose you. Destroy them and
destroy as much of the enemy's base as you can with your Mortars. With the
enemy's resistance crushed, send some soldiers and Morgan to the Navigation
Chart at the center of the base, kill the Treasure Guardian, and claim the
chart, the final piece of information you need to explore the new world.

2.1.4 The Ottoman Fort

Primary Objectives:
-Build a Town Center.
-Go to the Home City and send a Shipment.
-Find and ally with at least two local Natives.
-Find and destroy the Ottoman Command Post and Town Center.

Secondary Objectives:
-Destroy the Ottoman Fishing Dock. (500 XP)

Build a Town Center. Your goal is to acquire 800 food, in order to advance to
the Colonial Age. Hunt the nearby animals with the two Settlers you start
with the extra Settlers that arrive when the Town Center is complete. Build a
Market and research the Hunting Dogs upgrade. Get the nearby Treasure
worth 40 food. Do not build Settlers.

Soon enough, you will have 800 food. Advance to the next age. Choose the
wood-giving governor. Move some Settlers from hunting and into woodcutting.

Send for a shipment of Settlers with your first card.

Build a Trading Post at the nearby site.

Once at the Colonial Age, ship in Crossbowmen with a card.

To the northwest of your base is another site. Build a Trading Post there.

Send the ship St. Elmo's Fire down south along the coast. Destroy the enemy
Dock.

Collect 1200 food and 1000 gold in order to advance to the Fortress Age. Move
Settlers off woodcutting and place them on mines. Research the Placer Mines
upgrade. Build more Settlers and place them on either hunting or mining. By
now, the nearby animal herd is probably gone. To the northwest is another
herd for your Settlers to decimate.

Once you begin researching the age advancement, shift your economic focus to
gold and wood production, with a heavy bias towards gold collection. When the
advancement is complete, ship in a Falconet. With the Falconet, destroy the
enemy Outpost and Trading Post to the south of your base.

Build an Artillery Foundry and build Mortars. Begin cranking out native
warriors at your Trading Posts.

With two or three Mortars and a substantial force of native warriors (I prefer
the Carib Blowgunners), assault the Ottoman fort. Let the Mortars demolish
the Ottoman fort, while your soldiers fend off the inevitable rushes. The map
ends when you level the Command Post and the Town Center.

2.1.5 Temples of the Aztec

Primary Objectives:
-Build a Trading Post at the Aztec village.
-Build a Town Center.
-At least one Aztec Temple must remain standing.
-Find and Destroy the Spanish Town Center.

Secondary Objectives:
-Save more than one Temple.
-Rescue more Aztec prisoners. (300 XP)

Kill the soldiers to the southeast of your starting location to gain control
of some native units. Go northeast and build a Trading Post at the available
site.

While Morgan is constructing the Post, immediately send the rest of your
soldiers northwest, past a Treasure guarded by two jaguars and kill the
soldiers there to free more native soldiers. Then head north and kill a few
more soldiers and free more natives. Try to preserve your Hussars.

When Morgan finishes the Post, a ship will arrive and unload a Town Center
Wagon. Build a Town Center.

Enemies from the north will attack your base. Kill them with your soldiers.

Resist the urge to advance an age (you certainly have enough resources) and
begin improving your economy (ignore gold and get as much food and wood as
possible; don't build too may Settlers), but focus on creating a strong
standing army. Crank out native soldiers at your post, build a Barracks to
build Crossbowmen, and build a Stable and build a few cavalry units.

Build two sizable forces: one to keep by the isolated northwestern temple, and
a larger one to keep between the temples in the east. Keep cavalry near the
middle of the map and use them to deal with the occasional cannons that
appear. Build Outposts by the temples.

The largest source of enemies will be the base north of the eastern temples.
There is one path leading out of the base that splits into two. Make it a
priority to block both paths with Outposts and soldiers. Do not get too near
the base as there is a yet unassailable Outpost guarding the base's gate.

There are more Aztec prisoners to the east. Save them during the lulls
between attacks.

When 15 minutes pass, a large Aztec army will arrive. Now that you are not
pressed to defend the Temples, advance to the Fortress Age and build Mortars.
Bombard the gate blocking the way to the base. Be sure to guard the Mortars
as a large cavalry force rides out to defend the base.

Work your way through the base as usual to win.

2.1.6 A Pirate's Help

Primary Objectives:
-Gain 8,000 Experience before Lizzie sails to Florida. (500 XP)
-Bring Morgan to Lizzie before she sets sail.

Secondary Objectives:
-Stop the raiding Native Americans from attacking the settlers of Havana.
(350 XP)
-Build the first Stable in Havana. (500 XP)
-Reopen trade with the rest of Cuba by building a second Trading Post. (850
XP)
-Take Lizzie's Native American friend to his family on the nearby Island.
(1000 XP)
-Find and gather the stolen gold. (900 XP)
-Return the lost herd to Havana's Livestock Pen. (350 XP)
-Retrieve stolen artifact. (1500 XP)

The moment the map starts, rush your soldiers west and kill the natives
attacking the Settlers. (Use Morgan's Oberhau attack to speed up the
process.) Once they are slain, you gain control of Havana.

To boost your economy in the fastest manner possible, do the following:

1. Build Settlers at the Town Center.

2. Research the Hunting Dogs, Placer Mines and Gangsaw upgrade at the Market.

3. Have half the Settlers working on the Mills hunt the numerous turkeys and
have the other half cut wood. (Hunting is faster.)

4. Build three sheep at the Livestock Pen. Research the upgrade there.

5. Never let your Settlers idle.

6. Bankrupt yourself building Hussars and Crossbowmen.

Ignore the Mills. Do not upgrade them. When your sheep fatten up, have
around five Settlers harvest their meat. Do not forget to build more sheep,
but remember that only 10 sheep can fatten up at the Pen at the same time.

Build a Stables and many Hussars. Build Crossbowmen. Constantly do this.

When you have a decent sized army (20+ units), head south along the road and
kill the natives guarding the Trading Post site. Bring some Settlers along.
Build a Trading Post, then head west into a village. Kill the Natives there
and leave your Settlers there to collect the gold bags.

By now Lizzie should have asked you to send escort her Native American friend
to his family. Escort the boy with your soldiers at Havana to your main army.
If you do not have Hussars, build them now as they will be helpful for a later
task.

There are many natives on the beach where the canoe is waiting. Make good use
of Morgan's Oberhau attack.

Before loading up your troops and the native boy into the canoe, go south and
take control of the cows grazing there. Send the cows to the Livestock Pen
(you do not need to escort them) for some experience.

Load your best troops (especially Hussars), Morgan and the boy into the canoe.
Unload them on the eastern island. Kill the natives waiting for you. Go to
the village to gain 1000 experience, a new objective to recover an artifact,
and many Seminole Sharktooth warriors.

The artifact is on the southeastern end of the island and is guarded by
pirates and two cannons. A full canoe of shipped in soldiers (your original
landing force) and the Sharktooth warriors you are given should be more than
adequate for most players. If you are not sure, ship in more soldiers.

Have your Hussars attack the cannons while your infantry units handle the
pirates. Retrieving the artifact should give your enough experience to
fulfill the 8000 experience point requirement.

If you have ample time left before Lizzie sets sail, build tons of buildings
and units to gain even more experience. Rove around the map looking for more
natives to kill. Fulfill any leftover secondary objectives, if any.

To win, take Morgan to Lizzie.

2.1.7 Spanish Treasure Fleet

Primary Objectives:
-Place a Town Center to establish your base.
-Capture six total Treasure ships.

Secondary Objectives:
-Destroy any Spanish Forts. (300 XP each)
-Kill Delgado. (1000 XP)

The level starts with a naval battle. Focus fire on one enemy ship at a time,
using your ships' Broadside Attack. When one of your ships is close to dying
or taking concentrated fire, move it out of the battle and then let to return
to the fray once the enemy ships have targeted a new ship.

When battle is over, unload your ships at the beach nearby. Build a Town
Center. Destroy the nearby enemy Outpost with your Mortar to gain control of
a Treasure ship. Destroy the nearby Stockade to gain control of some Incan
Huamincas.

When your Town Center is complete, do not build Settlers. Instead, have your
Settlers collect the starting resources then hunt a nearby animal for food.
Advance to the Fortress Age.

Build a Barracks and soldiers.

Send some soldiers and a Mortar to the elevated ridge north of your first
Treasure ship. Bombard and destroy the Outpost guarding another Treasure
ship. To the northeast is another Stockade; destroy it to free some Incan
Bola Throwers who reveal the location of all the other Treasure ships.

Get artillery units with your cards.

Since gold will be abundant, build Buccaneers at your flagship.

Another Treasure ship to the west is now exposed. Unfortunately, it is
guarded by a Fort. To take this ship, add more soldiers and some Falconets to
your force. Bombard the Fort with Mortars; a massive army may arrive. Kill
it and take the Treasure ship.

Meanwhile, pay attention to your town, building up a steady stream of food and
wood (especially wood).

Now, gather most of your soldiers and artillery units east of the enemy town.
Bombard some buildings and wait for the enemies to rush out and defend their
base. As you destroy more of the town, Delgado will come out. Kill him.

Destroy the Outposts guarding the Treasure ships to win.

But before you do that, you may want to research Mercantilism and destroy the
fort south of the enemy base for experience.

2.1.8 The Fountain of Youth?

Primary Objectives:
-Destroy the Fountain of Youth.
-Kill the guards near the Fixed Gun.

Secondary Objectives:
-Destroy the Circle's base to the east of the Fixed Gun. (600 XP)
-Build a Trading Post at the Native village. (300 XP)

Ram the Fountain of Youth with the three Fire Ships you start with. Then rush
your units to the Fixed Gun and kill the enemies around it; the cannon will
fall under your control.

Lizzie's flagship, Paris Burning, will arrive and unload a Covered Wagon and
some units. Build a base.

Keep your units by the Fixed Cannon. It will be the target of all the enemy's
attacks.

Your short-term objective is to destroy the enemy base to the east of the
Fixed Gun. To that end, use the Fixed Gun to destroy the base's defenses and
military buildings. Ship in some artillery units and use them to destroy the
base with the help of some military units. However, always keep a significant
force by the Fixed Gun.

When you have the resources to do so, build two Outposts at the shore directly
south of the Fixed Gun, where the spur of land the Fixed Gun is on and the
shoreline meet. The computer tends to send ships there to bombard the Fixed
Gun as the cannon cannot fire upon enemies that close. Build two more
Outposts at the spur of land guarding your harbor to ward off any naval units
attempting to attack your Dock.

Focus on your navy. Build Galleons, Caravels, and their upgrades. Kill any
ships and continually bombard the Fountain of Youth. The Fixed Gun can kill
Caravels in one hit, so do not pass up any opportunities to kill them.

By now you should have a sustainable pattern: enough troops to defend the
Fixed Gun from the frequent land incursions from the north, ships to defend
the Fixed Gun from any enemy ships, and enough resources flowing in to produce
replacements for the units you lose.

Continually bombard the Fountain. Use your Caravels' Broadside Attack on the
Fountain to speed up the process.

If you get bored, load up an expedition of one hero and maybe 30 soldiers and
some cavalry and transport them to the land near the western edge of the map.
Build a Trading Post at the site there. Beware of the inevitable attack.

After some time, the Fountain should fall.

2.2 Act II

2.2.1 Defend the Colony

Primary Objectives:
-Defend your Town Center for 15 minutes.

Secondary Objectives:
-Stop the Cherokee attackers from destroying the village to the southwest.
(500XP)
-Escort the refugees back to the colony. (300 XP each)

The map starts with Cherokee Indians attacking your base. Set your Heavy
Cannon to bombard mode and use John Black's and Kanyenke's special attacks.

Once the Indians are dead, immediately send the soldiers and the Heavy Cannon
directly west of your base, to two Silver Mines. At your base build Settlers,
research the wood- and gold-gathering upgrades at the Market, build a Stable,
and send for a Falconet with your first card.

Very soon, a large Cherokee force will assault the colony to the west. Engage
them with your units, especially your artillery. Once the colony is saved,
immediately send the army back to the base, as it will be attacked soon. Set
the villagers you have just saved to collect resources you need.

There will be a lull in the attacks, so manage the economy, and use Morgan
Black and Kanyenke to recover the scattered Treasures. Build some Uhlans at
the Stable (build one if you have not). Use the Uhlans for the cannons the
enemy later brings.

Eventually, some villagers will run from the southeast, with Cherokee cavalry
harrying them. Save them. They become Musketeers upon arriving at your base.

Waves of Cherokee will constantly attack your base, and more groups of
villagers will run to your base and become soldiers. Keep cannons and
soldiers outside the base and engage any enemies. By keeping them out in the
field, your ability to intercept harrying Cherokee cavalry and save refugees
will be greatly improved. The enemy will also bring in some Heavy Cannons.
Kill them with your Uhlans or bombard them with your own cannons.

Once 15 minutes pass, reinforcements arrive and you win.

2.2.2 Strange Alliances

Primary Objectives:
-Destroy the Cherokee War Huts.
-Bring John and Kanyenke to the main Cherokee village to negotiate a peace.
-Establish a new colony and defeat the British.

Secondary Objectives:
-Rescue all Settlers captured by the British. (500 XP)

Gather the soldiers and send them to the Cherokee War Hut southwest of the
base. Pick off the Cherokee guarding the hut with Kanyenke's and John Black's
special attacks. Attack the War Hut. Some units will spawn. Kill them,
making sure either John Black or Kanyenke are absorbing the enemy fire. They
are hardy units with rapid health regeneration. Once the hut is gone, head to
the second hut and kill the horsemen guarding it. Repeat the procedure used
on the first hut.

You will be directed to go to the Cherokee village. Before doing so, explore
the map and take any Treasures at your leisure. When you are done, go to the
village, where four British Redcoats will ambush you.

You will be given a Covered Wagon. Build a Town Center with it and construct
a base. Your first food should be had through hunting. Build a Market and
research the Hunting Dogs upgrade. Focus on food and gold collection. Your
short-term goal is to save 1200 food and 1000 gold to advance to the Fortress
Age. Choose the Mohawk Statesman governor. Use your cards to summon
soldiers.

To the northeast of your base is a Treasure guarded by five or so wolves that
boosts your hero's hitpoints by 30%. Well worth getting, if you have not done
so already.

At the Fortress Age, ship in or build three or so Falconets. With the
Falconets and about 25 infantry units, approach the now-British base from the
south. If you encounter a Fort, avoid it at all costs. Free any Settlers.
When you begin assaulting the base, the biggest battle of the map will ensue
and many Longbowmen and Redcoats will attack your army. But three Falconets
should hand you a decisive victory. Work through the British base.

While your army is demolishing the British base, collect the resources to
advance to the Industrial Age (2000 food and 1200 gold). At the Industrial
Age, use cards to send for Mortars (or build them) and soldiers. Destroy the
British Fort, located between your base and the British base.

Clean up any remaining buildings to win.

2.2.3 The Rescue

Primary Objectives:
-Train an army and attack the British from the south side.

Secondary Objectives:
-Ally with any other Iroquois in the area. (200 XP)

Build a Town Center. Have your Settlers cut wood and hunt. The sole food
source for the entire map should be hunting, so research Hunting Dogs at the
Market.

At the northern Iroquois village, keep your native units near the sole
Outpost. When they are attacked, use Nonahkee's healing ability. It is
powerful and quick to recover.

With your first card, send for five Musketeers. You have two goals: Protect
Nonahkee's group and advance to the Fortress Age. Nonahkee will be regularly
attacked by large groups of British soldiers; whenever this happens, attack
the British base and Nonahkee's attackers will return to their base. Whenever
the Outposts are targeting a non-hero unit, move that unit out of the
Outposts' range. Use Kanyenke's special ability to pick off enemies within
the fort. Continually harassing the British base will prevent them from
attacking Nonahkee. You do not need many units besides your Jaegers. If you
wish to fulfill the secondary objective, the two Trading Post sites are near
the western and eastern edges of the map.

Once you reach the Fortress Age, send for Falconets. Use the Falconets to
destroy the town.

2.2.4 The Seven Years' War

Primary Objectives:
-Help destroy the British on your side of the river.
-Find and destroy the British Fort Command building.

Secondary Objectives:
-Find and control the only Trade Route. (300 XP)

The map starts with the British attacking a French colony. As soon as you
gain control of your units, attack the lone British Falconet with your Uhlans
and let your infantry handle the rest. Use your heroes' special abilities.
Once the British force is gone, destroy another enemy force to your north.

The French colony will come under your control. Send for a Fort Wagon with
your first card, and build a Fort overlooking the nearby path that crosses the
river. Get your economy moving by moving all your Coureur's from the mine and
onto the Mill; they have a faster collection rate. (Sadly, there are no
animals to hunt). Build Settlers and collect resources with the goal of
amassing 2000 food and 1200 gold to advance to the Industrial Age. Collect
the Treasures scattered around your side of the river.

With your next few cards, send for Skirmishers, then all the Falconets and
artillery you can, and more Skirmishers and Musketeers. Save leftover cards.
When you have 20-30 soldiers and a few Falconets, cross the southern path of
the river to the other side. Destroy the two Outposts guarding their side of
the river, and wreck the poorly-defended base south of the fort.

Do not neglect your economy. Once you save 2000 food and 1200 gold, advance
to the Industrial Age. Once the age research completes, ship in Mortars and
more soldiers.

Break through the fort wall and demolish the buildings. The final target is
the red-roofed Command Post. Destroy it to win.

2.2.5 The Great Lakes

Primary Objectives:
-Advance to the Fortress Age and build an Artillery Foundry.
-Destroy the three Boneguard outposts before Warwick's navy reaches Lake Erie.
-Destroy Warwick's navy and his Town Center.

Secondary Objectives:
-Avoid losing any of Washington's fleet. (300 EXP)

Your first goal is to advance to the Fortress Age. Ignore the Mill and have
your Settlers hunt deer. Build a Market and research the Hunting Dogs
upgrade. Continually build more Settlers and make them hunt. Explore the map
with John Black, Kanyenke and Nonahkee and collect any Treasures; ignore the
Outposts as they cannot kill you. Refrain from using any Cards, and do not
waste your wood on a Barracks.

You will find that food will accumulate very quickly. When you are nearing
900 food, move around ten Settlers to the nearest mine. Research the Placer
Mines upgrade at the Market. When you save up 1200 food and 1000 gold,
advance to the Fortress Age.

Once the Fortress Age upgrade finishes, send for Falconets and the Fort Wagon
with your cards and build an Artillery Foundry. Send for some Skirmishers or
Musketeers.

Continue to focus on food and gold. Your next goal is to accumulate 2000 food
and 1200 gold. Do not build any units besides Settlers.

Destroy the Outpost to the north of your base with the Falconets. Build a
Fort at the northwesternmost edge of the island. Then destroy the Outpost to
the northeast of your base. Two ships will come under your control.

Load Falconets and soldiers into a ship and head to the Outpost to the
far northwest, across the lake. Destroy it, then return to your base. A new
objective will appear: Destroy Warwick's navy and his Town Center. Three
Imperial Frigates will arrive and come under your control.

By now, you should have 2000 wood and 1200 gold. Advance to the Industrial
Age. When the upgrade finishes, two Monitors will arrive and reinforce your
navy.

With three Imperial Frigates and two Monitors, you have a powerful enough navy
to win the map. However, if you wish to, destroy the enemy base north of your
base, but doing so will not confer much of a tactical advantage.

To decimate Warwick's navy with no loss to your own, you must make use of all
your ships' abilities. First, use the Monitor's Long-range Bombardment Attack
on the enemy's Town Center. While it recharges, send one Frigate out at a
time and use its Broadside Attack ability on an enemy ship before retreating.
Repeat the process with the other Frigates. When the Monitors' attack
abilities recharge, use them again on the Town Center. Continue this pattern.
Once the Town Center and Warwick's navy are destroyed, the map ends.

2.2.6 Respect

Primary Objectives:
-Earn 10,000 Experience before the Circle kills all five Chiefs.

Secondary Objectives:
-Bring the White Buffalo from Warwick's pen to the Lakota village. (550 XP)
-Destroy Warwick's Trading Post on the Trade Route. (550 XP)
-Claim the lost gold on Owl Island. (650 XP)
-Find and return the Lakota chief's daughter to the Lakota village to the
south. (600 XP)
-Herd five wild horses to the Lakota tribe to the south. (550 XP)
-Build a Trading Post at the Lakota village. (400 XP)
-Destroy Warwick's Outpost on Barren Hill. (500 XP)

Build a Town Center. Acquire food by hunting buffalo. Build a Market, and
research the Hunting Dogs upgrade. Advance to the Fortress Age using your
starting resources. Concentrate on collecting food and gold, with the goal of
ultimately achieving the Industrial Age.

The northeasternmost Lakota chief will be attacked first. Ignore it, and
ignore all future attacks on the chiefs.

To your northwest is a moon-shaped lake. In the area of land cupped by the
river is the Lakota chief's daughter. Save her with one of your heroes,
ignoring the nearby Trading Post for now. Send her back to the Lakota village
next to your base to complete an objective. There are also two horses you can
collect. Send them to the village, too.

With your first cards, send for Falconets, a Fort Wagon, and either
Skirmishers or Musketeers. Send your Falconets and Fort Wagon, along with an
army, of course, to the Lakota village north of the village closest to your
base. Along the way are three horses. Send them back to the village for a
total of five horses and another objective completed. Destroy the Outpost
that sits atop a dirt mound to fulfill another objective. The sacred mound
sits next to a Lakota village. In the area between the mound and the Lakota
village, build a Fort as close to the road as possible.

As your Fort is building, a large group of enemies will appear. Kill them.
Among the group should be a Fort Wagon; be sure to kill it.

Once that is done, set your Fort to receive Home City shipments and send for
more soldiers. Once they arrive, head west, along the road, until you arrive
at a pen guarded by soldiers. Kill them, and the sacred White Buffalo will
fall under your control. Send it to the Lakota village to complete another
objective.

Travel a bit west, to a small lake with Owl Island in the middle. At the
lake's edge is a canoe, which you can use to send soldiers and Settlers to
collect the riches of the island, fulfilling yet another objective. (Thanks
to say1988 for this information.)

Advance to the Industrial Age when you can.

Travel south along the road to reach the Trading Post guarded by a Falconet
and some Boneguard. Kill them and destroy the post to complete yet another
objective. Build a Trading Post and set it to collect experience.

Even with all of the secondary objectives fulfilled, a considerable experience
shortfall will remain. Fill it in with the bodies of Warwick's men. Either
through sending with cards, or building, amass an army of perhaps 30 infantry
and 4-6 artillery units, a few of them Mortars. Attack Warwick's base,
located at the northern end of the map. As usual, surround the artillery
pieces with men, and let the artillery pound away at Warwick's base. Waves of
enemies will rush out. Kill them, then level Warwick's base.

2.2.7 Warwick's Stronghold

Primary Objectives:
-Destroy Warwick's Town Center inside his stronghold.

Secondary Objectives:
-Destroy all of Warwick's Outposts. (700 XP)
-Destroy Warwick's Trading Post at the Comanche village. (500 XP)

As soon as you gain control your units, pause the game by pressing the Pause
key (it is the rightmost button on the top row of your keyboard). To the
northeast of your Town Center is a Wagon guarded by three Hussars and a
Landsknecht. The following is done while the game is paused: Order John Black
to use his Hawkeye Attack on the Landsknecht. Order Kanyenke to use his Red
Bear Arrow on a Hussar. Order your Lakota Axe Riders to attack the same
Hussar. Order the Musketeers to attack another Hussar. It is critical that
you do not select the different unit types (cavalry, infantry, heroes) and
order them to perform the same action, for they will travel slowly, and speed
is of the essence.

Unpause and let your units perform their assigned actions. The Landsknecht
should be dead, one of the Hussars should be near death, and the Lakota Axe
Riders and Musketeers should be slaughtering the remaining Hussars. Send the
captured wagon to your Town Center, and immediately send your troops to the
west path, where another wagon is making its way to Warwick's base.

Attack the soldiers guarding the second wagon, ignoring the Outpost guarding
that path. Once the wagon is under your control, retreat and employ the Field
Gun to destroy the Outpost.

Keep your units near the west path. With your first card, send for a Fort
Wagon. When it arrives, build the Fort just north of your Town Center, so
that it blocks much of the north path. With your second card, send for more
military units. If you have any mercenary cards, use it, as you have plenty
of gold.

A third wagon, tempting and full of coin, will appear at the top of the map.
Ignore it. At the same time, a wagon will appear on the west path. Seize it.

Split your army. Have half, none of them cavalry units, guard the west path.
Have the other half and the Field Gun go to the east path. Destroy the
Outpost guarding the path and wait for more supply wagons to come through.

You now have two armies guarding the west and east paths intercepting every
wagon that comes through them.

Mass-produce Musketeers at your Fort and Barracks, and send for Mortars and
Field Guns. If you wish, attack Warwick's Trading Post, located just a bit
north east of your base, with Mortars to achieve one of the secondary
objectives. The other objective will be automatically fulfilled in due
course.

Collect thirty Skirmishers and Musketeers, several Mortars and Field Guns and
drive north up the central lane, clearing out buildings with the Mortars. Use
the Field Guns to destroy any artillery. The final attack should eliminate
the remaining Outposts, fulfilling one of the objectives. Destroy Warwick's
Town Center to win.

2.2.8 Bringing Down the Mountain

Primary Objectives:
-Use your Miners to collapse the Rock Bridges.

Secondary Objectives:
-Destroy a Great Cannon.

This map has four passes running roughly east-west, the bottom three spanned
by bridges. The goal of this map is to destroy all three bridges, while
keeping the enemy's Great Cannons (which are guarded, of course) from reaching
the other side of the map. The bridges are indicated by blue target icons on
the minimap. You are given special units, Miners, who can work on the bridges
to collapse them. The Miners must work on both sides of the Rock Bridges in
order to collapse them. It will be helpful to frequently pause the game
(using the Pause key on your keyboard) to see how much progress your Miners
have made on, if there are more Miners at the mine entrance, etc. Do not to
let them idle--the faster you get the bridges down, the easier this stage will
be.

Have the Miners work the northernmost bridge. Send Kanyenke, two Culverins
and soldiers to the middle bridge, and place them overlooking the middle pass.
Create Musketeers at the Barracks (not Skirmishers) and send them to the
Culverin. Build Settlers at your two Town Centers and have them collect
resources.

And the most important step: Immediately use your first card to ship in a Fort
Wagon. At the split second it comes out, rush it to the elevated area between
the middle and bottom Rock Bridges and build a Fort. Ship in or build some
artillery to supplement the Fort.

The first Great Cannon and its escort will travel through the middle pass.

Your northern base may be raided by Cossacks and other units. Just garrison
the Settlers in the Town Center and they should be able to ward off the
attackers. You may lose the Market. During the attack, more Miners will
appear at the cave by your northern Town Center; have them work on the top
bridge, too.

The second wave has two cannons, one going through the southern pass and
another through the middle pass. Be sure to have the Fort and the nearby
cannons target the Great Cannon traveling through the south pass, while your
Culverin should target the cannon traveling through the middle pass. Cossacks
will attack your cannons, so be prepared with Musketeers. By this time the
northern bridge should be collapsed, so begin work on the middle bridge. Ship
in a pair of Culverin and some infantry units at the northern Town Center in
preparation for the next wave.

Keep your Miners working; move them to the southern bridge when they finish
collapsing the middle one.

The next wave is comprised of two Great Cannons and their escorts. One will
attempt to pass through the southern pass, and the other will attempt to pass
the northernmost pass (which lacks a bridge). The southern cannon can be
easily destroyed by the Fort. The far north pass must be defended by the
units you sent in earlier. Pay attention to your Miners, and keep them
working on the last bridge.

You win when the final bridge is destroyed.

2.3 Act III

2.3.1 Race for the Rails

Primary Objectives:
-Build Trading Posts on all sites along the Trade Route.

Secondary Objectives:
-Ally with any Native Americans in the area. (200 XP each)

Immediately have your Railroad Workers construct a Trading Post at the open
site south of your base. Make and send Skirmishers to the new Trading Post.
Explore the map with your explorers. One Native American village is located
to the south of the enemy base, which is located west of yours. Another
Native American village is at the southwest edge of the map. Defend your
newly acquired Trading Post with your Railroad Workers (who, like the miners
of the previous map, can lob dynamite) and Skirmishers while you advance to
the Fortress Age. To advance quickly, set your Trading Posts to collect
either Food or Gold. It may be helpful to build an Outpost near your base to
kill any marauding units.

Get Falconets as soon as possible and use them to push south along the road to
the third Trading Post site. Build a Trading Post and an Outpost or two
nearby. Advance to the northwest of the map and demolish the rival company's
base for the experience points. Set your Trading Posts to collect experience
and advance to the Industrial Age. Research Iron Horse at the Trading Post.
Research Mercantilism at the Church. Let the game sit for a while to collect
experience.

Destroy the rival company's final Trading Post and erect your own to win.

2.3.2 Hold the Fort

Primary Objectives:
-Survive until Cooper's men arrive.
-Destroy all the Mexican Army's Town Centers

Secondary Objectives:
-Upgrade both Trade Routes to Trains. (300 XP)

Pull your Musketeers into the fort. Set the cannons in your fort to Bombard
Mode. There is a Trading Post sitting on each of the two Trade Routes running
through your fort. Set them to collect whatever resources you need. Research
Iron Horse at both Trading Posts. With your cards, send for artillery. Have
Amelia Black build Trading Posts at open sites, denoted by large white
circles. Each Trading Post site is guarded by one of your Outposts. Research
Frontier Outpost and Fortified Outpost upgrades at an Outpost. Build
artillery and distribute them at corners, with a bias toward the longer sides
of your fort. Build a few skirmishers.

Defending your base from the waves of enemy troops is simple. When your fort
is attacked, have the artillery closest to the enemy bombard the largest
clumps of soldiers, and have your skirmishers pick off individual soldiers
(having your artillery bombard lone soldiers is wasteful of opportunity).

Be sure to keep Amelia walking around the map building Trading Posts. Do not
forget to set your Trading Posts to collect the resources you need.

After the timer runs down, Major Cooper's reinforcements will arrive. You
will receive around twenty units of cavalry, fifty Skirmishers, and eight
Howitzers. Your new objective will be destroy the enemy Town Centers. As
usual, have your artillery bombard the buildings from afar while you keep your
soldiers nearby to defend the artillery.

Methodically work your way through the towns.

2.3.3 The Boneguard's Lair

Primary Objectives:
-Find Beaumont
-Drive Beaumont and his men out of the caves.

Send Amelia into the cave and have her use her sniping ability to kill a
Boneguard. Then engage the rest of the Boneguard with all your units. Now
you gain control of Kanyenke. He will be in an Indian village. Explore the
area with him to find two more Indian villages and a second entrance to the
cave.

Back to Amelia. A bit further into the cave is a Stockade. Destroy it to
gain a few Skirmishers. Scout further into the cave with Amelia once more,
and once more kill another Boneguard with her ability. There will be more
enemies this time, so keep Amelia and Major Cooper in front to soak up the
attacks. They cannot die and they regain health quickly, unlike your regular
units. Use Amelia's ability as soon as it recharges. For the rest of the
stage make it a habit to scout with Amelia and pick off any enemies with her
ability. Capture the food wagon and send it to the small Indian village
Kanyenke started in. Five Cree Trackers join you. Have Kanyenke and the Cree
Trackers join your main party, taking care not to travel through the second
cave entrance, but the original entrance.

I will not mention any more enemies unless there is a significant number of
them.

Continue a bit north to a Weapons Cache. Destroy it. A secondary objective
to destroy the caches will appear. Head southeast. There is another food
wagon and Stockade with imprisoned dogs. Liberate them and continue south,
and send the wagon to the village with the horses to get Nootka Clubmen. Your
party should be near the second entrance Kanyenke discovered. Head return up
the branch you came from and head northeast into an unexplored branch. Free
some clubmen from a Stockade and take the Treasure. Continue along this loop.
Have your clubmen engage any cavalry. There will be another Treasure, another
wagon and another cache.

Head back to the second cave entrance, then head up the northeast branch.
Have clubmen engage any cavalry. Capture the food wagon.

Send the wagon to the eastern village to obtain two Medicine Men. Isolate
your injured units and heal them with the Medicine Men's special ability. It
is important to keep the number of units within the healing spell's radius
down to a minimum because the duration, and thus the amount of healing, of the
spell depends only on how many units are within the spell's area of effect.
The more units there are, even if they are in perfect health, the shorter the
spell lasts.

Continue northeast and clear out the enemies. There are Treasures to be
collected here. Go southeast and free another food wagon and some
Skirmishers. Destroy the cache here. Exit the caves and destroy the next
cache. Send this wagon and all other wagons to the village that supplies Cree
Trackers.

Enter the new cave. There is a wagon and a Stockade holding three Musketeers
here. The final and largest group of enemies resides in this cave. With your
army of Skirmishers, Cree Trackers and Musketeers, the battle should be easy.
Kill the wolves guarding the Treasures and collect them to win the map.

2.3.4 The Lost Spanish Gold

Primary Objectives:
-Destroy the three Outposts guarding the ruined treasure ships.
-Destroy Beaumont's Town Center.

Secondary Objectives:
-Build Trading Posts at the Native Villages. (500 XP)
-Bring Kanyenke to the revealed forest along the southeast edge of the map.
(300 XP)

Build a Trading Post at the Native American village southeast of your base.
Build settlers and have them cut wood and hunt for food. Have one collect
gold from the gold bag north of your Town Center. Use your first card to get
a Falconet.

Once your Trading Post is complete, send Kanyenke southeast to where the
Indians have directed you to obtain the fixed cannon. Have it hammer the
Outposts, the Trading Post, and the Fort, in that order.

Develop your economy, paying attention to wood and food. Aim for a quick Age
advancement. Build an Outpost by the wrecked treasure ship closest to your
base and mine it. Build Sharktooths. Cards such as Native American Warriors
and Native American Treaties are extremely helpful for this map.

Crush the Outpost far southeast of your base with your Falconet and soldiers.
The fixed cannon cannot shoot that far.

With the way clear, send a villager or Amelia to build a Trading Post at the
village near the southeast edge of the map. Build an Outpost by your fixed
cannon and have a handful of troops defend it.

Defend yourself for now from the occasional waves of enemies while you advance
to the next age. You will need Mortars to tackle the enemy fort; Falconets
have a range of 26, and so do Forts. Focus on growing your economy.

Once you have your Mortars, attack any of Beaumont's Forts and clear out any
remaining Outposts. Attack his base with your artillery, and remember that
guarding artillery is perhaps the most important function of your soldiers.
Keep a lot of units in front of your artillery when you begin bombarding the
Center. The Town Center spawns a lot of troops, including cavalry. Destroy
it to win.

2.3.5 Bolivar's Revolt

Primary Objectives:
-Help General Bolivar free the town to the north.
-Help General Bolivar free two more towns.
-Destroy the Spanish fort's Command Post.

Secondary Objectives:
-Free all four villages from the Spanish. (1000 XP)

Follow the road north and let Bolivar's cannon destroy the Outpost. The town
will soon come under your control. Quickly, with your first card send for the
most powerful ship you can, move the fishing boats near your Dock to the
safety of the south and have your settlers collect the gold and wood around
your Town Center and build a Frigate with the resources. Soon, a Frigate and
two Privateers will attack your base. Do not engage the ships at first; your
Town Center will bombard them for you. When the ship you sent for arrives,
group it with the ship you start with (it is in the south) and take out the
Privateers before hitting the Frigate. The Frigate at the Dock should be
complete by now and will aid you in repelling the enemy.

Once the enemy ships are vanquished, build fishing vessels and attend to your
economy. Use a card to get a Falconet. Your goal, economically, should be to
advance to the Industrial Age so you can use better cards to summon artillery.

Once Bolivar begins assaulting, let him do the work. Be wary of the two enemy
Falconets; keep your Falconet out of their range until you are sure they are
occupied. A mass of enemies will also begin streaming from another town and
will try to bypass your soldiers and make for your town, so be sure to make
sure few soldiers get pass your assaulting force. Do not be too aggressive in
taking down the Outposts; if you do manage to destroy both Outposts during the
battle, control of the village will shift to you--bad, considering there's a
battle raging in it. You stand to lose a very valuable Mortar.

Once you take the new town, you will gain control of a few buildings and
units, the most being the Mortar and the Artillery Foundry. Protect the
Mortar as cavalry will soon attack it. Send your Falconet and some infantry
back to your base as soon as possible. A lone enemy Falconet will begin
bombarding it. Take it out with your Falconet and your troops.

Now that you have a Mortar, there is no reason to delay attacking the next
town. As usual, bombard the defensive structures of the town, letting your
enemies come to you. The town should fall easily.

Quickly group up the settlers working on the Mills and pull them back. There
are two Fortified Outposts overlooking the town. Destroy them with your
Mortar. Construct a Culverin; you will be going against more Falconets soon.

Advance to the Industrial Age if you have not already. Summon more Mortars
with a card.

Demolish the enemy base's east gate and any defenses with Mortars. Destroy
the Fortified Outposts to the east of the gate to free a Stable. You gain
eight cavalry units. Set your Mortars right where the east gate was and
hammer away at the base. Be sure to defend your artillery with plenty of
rifle soldiers. Level the Command Post to win.

2.3.6 Journey through the Andes

Primary Objectives:
-Reach Pacamayo Valley.

Secondary Objectives:
-Don't allow a single scout to reach the Boneguard Army. (1500 XP)

Head north. The bitter cold of the Andes will begin sapping your units of
life. Enter the first cave to restore their health. Keep Amelia near the
exit of the cave and have her use her sniping ability to kill any passing
scouts; the rest of the level will be an exercise in running from cave to cave
and killing the scouts that run by. Head south, killing any scouts you
encounter.

Feel free to ignore the animals, unless they are guarding Treasure you want.
Taking the time to kill them is not worth it. Any health you lose will be
recovered at the next cave.

Ignore the east route for now and enter the next cave, but keep Kanyenke or
Amelia on the road to kill any passing scouts. Once your units are healed,
send them to block the east road and send Amelia or Kanyenke back to be
healed. Resume your trek through the east shortcut.

Soon you can choose between two caves. Head to northern cave. Wait outside
for a bit for several horse riders. Kill them then head into the cave to
recuperate.

If you want to, sent some units south to the path you just bypassed to obtain
some Treasure (guarded by wolves).

Head north to the next cave. Remember to keep at least one hero near the
entrance or on the path to kill any scouts.

Continue along the path using this routine: while killing any scouts you see,
run from cave to cave. The path is one long loop. There is one Treasure
along the way that boosts your soldier's hit points.

Be sure to recuperate before starting your trek south along the loop. The
whole of the path has no caves. Kill any enemies you see quickly.

When you finally reach a cave, your soldiers will have little health left. Do
not rest for long as more scouts run out of the path immediately north of the
cave.

Take that path, ignoring the longer southern route (where you can rescue a
Medicine Man). Ignore the looping cave you encounter--it's an enticement to
get off the path (which you do not need to do as your units have ample health)
and let a scout through. Ignore it and ignore the Treasure within it, a
measly 200 EXP.

Go north, also ignoring the next cave. A little more north there is another
cave. Quickly heal, and head out to intercept two riders who come out in
quick succession.

Continue north. There is a Treasure worth 200 EXP. Get it. Continue along
the path, now bending south once again.

Welcome to Pacamayo Valley.

2.3.7 Last City of the Inca

Primary Objectives:
-Gather eight total artillery units into the flagged area before the three
Incan Temples are destroyed.

Secondary Objectives:
-Destroy the Russian Town Center. (700 XP)

Keep two goals in mind as you begin this map: advance to the Industrial Age as
quickly as possible, and destroy the Russian (orange) town. Work toward these
two goals simultaneously.

To achieve the first goal, queue up lots of Settlers, build two or three Sheep
Pens, send any captured Llamas to the pens, have a few Settlers hunt birds,
etc. With your first cards, send for Native American-related abilities such
as Native American Lore and Native American Treaties. Get as much food as you
can. Do not to spend gold.

To achieve the second goal, rush Amelia across the map to where your first
artillery piece comes shipped in and have her build a Trading Post there, and
build anti-cavalry Native American infantry there.

Build perhaps fifteen infantry units and use your artillery to destroy the
Outpost and gate immediately north of your Trading Post. Work your way
through the town, augmenting your attacking force with units from the Post and
the artillery that spawns nearby.

Defend the southwest side of your base, which will be regularly attacked by
waves of cavalry and crossbowmen. Protect the Incan Temple right next to the
gate, but beware of the enemy Fortress nearby.

Once you get 2000 food and 1200 gold, advance to the Industrial Age. Use your
cards to get Mortars and a Factory. Set your Factory to produce Heavy
Cannons.

Once you have cleaned out the Russian town, unify your forces. Send eight
artillery units to the flagged area in your base to fulfill the primary
objective.

Now begin your assault on the Boneguard fortress at the southwestern corner of
the map. Let your Mortars clear out any defensive structures and walls while
your Heavy Cannons and Falconets and your infantry hang back to protect them
from enemies. Creep toward your goal, the Boneguard Fort at the middle of
their base. Once you destroy it the map ends.

2.3.8 Last Stand of the Boneguard

Primary Objectives:
-Bring Amelia to Havana's Town Center.
-Survive until the US Navy arrives.
-Destroy the Ossuary Shore Guns and Temple.

Secondary Objectives:
-Ally with the Carib Native Americans. (2000 XP)
-Destroy the Circle's Navy. (2000 XP)
-Advance to the Imperial Age. (4000 XP)

You begin with three ships. Only the Fluyt is loaded with units. Unload the
ship at the beach designated by the white target icon on the minimap.

Head west, up a ramp. Continue west, take the Treasure, and kill the Treasure
Guardians below guarding two captured Settlers from the safety of your height.
Go northeast along the elevated ridge and kill the enemies there. Return to
the beach, go east to more enemies and a Treasure worth 40 gold. Head a bit
more east, until you are nearly at the edge of the map and go north and claim
another Treasure worth 20 gold. Go west and rescue two Settlers. Send Amelia
to Havana's Town Center, and the town will ally you and you will receive a
Covered Wagon. Build a Town Center with the wagon.

Gather wood. Build Settlers at your Center (but don't go overboard--Settlers
cost food, which you should be conserving to advance to the next age).
Rapidly build Manor Houses, which spawn an additional Settler when completed.
Build a Market and upgrade resource collection upgrades. Hunt animals. Ship
in Falconets and infantry with your cards. Get your economy pumping, and try
to advance to the next age as soon as possible. Do not spend gold; focus on
food production.

While this is going on, large Boneguard forces will assault Havana. Assist
the defense of the town. Liberally use of your heroes' special abilities.

Advance to the Industrial Age as soon as possible, choosing the governor who
gives you the Fort Wagon. With your Fort Wagon, build a Fortress almost
exactly south of the Havana Town Center and roughly equidistant from your base
and the Boneguard base. Group your artillery and soldiers around this
Fortress. More importantly, the advancement allows you to resend Home City
shipments--do so.

By now the American navy should have arrived. Use the Monitor's Long-range
Bombardment Attack ability to take out the Shore Guns. While the bombard
ability is recharging, hammer the base. When the Shore Guns are gone, use the
special bombardment attack on the Ossuary (or the Weapons Cache above it--
thanks to rnn2walls for this tip) until it is destroyed for the win.

-------------------------------
3.0 Frequently Asked Questions
-------------------------------
Q: How do I pause/unpause the game?
A: Hit the Pause key on your keyboard. It should be the rightmost key of the
top row of keys on your keyboard.

Q: How do I build a gate?
A: Easy. Once you've built your walls, select the section of wall you want to
transform into a gate, then click on the build gate icon on the lower-right
corner of the screen.

Q: What's the code for 10,000 wood?
A: It's . Yes, literally the word "censored" between triangular
brackets.

Q: I completed every objective but the level still won't end! What do I do?
A: Either restart the stage or hit the Enter key and type "this is too hard"
(without the the quotation marks) and hit Enter again.

Q: Any tips for online play?
A: Sure, several.

1) Watch replays of your games. How did the enemy beat you? He probably
rushed. How did he rush? He probably managed his economy very well. Look
at how he distributed his villagers (to wood, to food, to gold), what he
built, what he bought, and what ultimate goal he had in mind. Study the
best players you encounter.

2) Don't collect resources you don't need. Every resource you collect
should be collected with an ultimate goal in mind. For example, if you
start in the Discovery Age, you will want to collect as much food as
possible to advance to the Colonial Age. If your villagers are collecting
gold, but you're in dire need of wood, then you haven't managed your
economy correctly.

3) Don't buy anything you don't need. For example, if you have only three
men mining gold, getting the Placer Mines upgrade and beyond is a definite
waste of resources.

4) Understand how the game works. What units counter what. What each
upgrade does.

5) Do not spend card points as soon as you level up. Save them up until
level ten and beyond, when a whole slew of good cards become available.
