001-General Information
-----------------------------------------------------------

This is a guide for the Windows game called Taipei. It's a
puzzle game. You can contact me at my long e-mail adress
ilovecartoonssomuch@yahoo.com, but make the subject Taipei
(or no subject at all) so I know that it's not just spam
and I won't delete it. Like all my other guides, you'll have
to ask permission if you want to use the guide for something
(I'll give it to you), as to not break any laws. Okay.
Here's your guide...

002-Introduction to Taipei
-----------------------------------------------------------

Well, what is Taipei? It comes in a format similair to all
those other easy-to-find games (solitaire, minesweeper, hearts,
freecell, etc.). Like freecell, it can be very tough to solve,
and every move counts. Unlike freecell, I can beat it.

Taipei is a modern version of the ancient oriental game,
Mah-Jongg. The game begins with an initial configuration of
tiles. The object of the game is to remove all the tiles from
the playing area.

Winning a game is much like solving an intricate puzzle.
One false move at the beginning could ruin your chances at
victory. And, while every game has a solution, finding it
often takes hours of diligent play.

The previous two paragraphs are what the help file says.
Taipei isn't hard. You'll figure it out easily.

003-How to Play Taipei
-----------------------------------------------------------

When you start a taipei game, it will automatically be in
the standard position (there are seven layouts). You'll see
a bunch of tiles laid out, with some tiles overlaping other
tiles.

In order to beat the game, you need to get rid of all the
tiles. You'll notice that some tiles are similair. You
can match up pairs of tiles. When you find two tiles that
match (click them both), they disappear.

It's not that simple. You need to find two matching tiles,
but the two tiles have to be free tiles. What makes a free
tile? A tile is free in any of the following cases:

There is no stack of tiles immediately to the right of the tile.
There is no stack of tiles immediately to the left of the tile.
The stack of tiles immediately to the right of the tile is
lower than the tile's stack.
The stack of tiles immediately to the left of the tile is lower
than the tile's stack.

Wow, that's difficult. But don't worry about it. An easier
way to tell if a tile is free is to click on it. If it is
not free, the game will tell you.

So basically, to play, match up pairs of free tiles. Do this
to every tile, and you win.

004-Taipei Solutions
-----------------------------------------------------------

A solution? I can tell you how to beat all Taipei games?
Hell no, I'm not doing that. I'm only giving you some
step-by-step solutions.

005-Autoplay
----------------------------------------------------------

Yes, the game has an autoplay feature. Very cool. All you
have to do is let it solve the puzzle for you. However, it
does not always solve the puzzle. Note that you won't get a
winner's fortune if the last move is performed with autoplay.
Here are the puzzles that are solved with autoplay:

Standard layout:

666
25833
29995
31395

Bridge layout:

19310
22906

I haven't gotten all of them, so if you find one I don't
have, send it in, please! Just e-mail me (instructions under
general information) with the layouts and numbers, and I'll
put it up. Plus, I'll credit you! Wowie! You'll be famous!
I'll do it even if you only have one to send in!
